What do I look for, exactly?

Toning? How about the warranty?

That's an important part of the overall rating. The review should spend some time discussing the warranty, and making it clear exactly what you're getting for your money. Decent treadmills should offer lifetime warranties on the frame, at least a 7-10 year warranty on the motor, two years on parts, and a year on labor. After all, it's a complex machine, and no matter how well your treadmill is built, all machines require regular maintenance.
